Balayage and colour in Decatur
Balayage is colour painted on by hand, so it grows out without a hard line at the root. Most of our clients come back every ten to fourteen weeks, not every six.
Is balayage right for me?
It suits you if you want brighter hair without a monthly root appointment. If you want every strand the same colour, or to cover a lot of grey, foils or all-over colour will do that better, and we will tell you so at the consultation.
How long does a colour appointment take?
Plan on two and a half to three hours for a first balayage. That includes the consultation, toner and a finish. Touch-ups after that are shorter.
What if my colour went wrong somewhere else?
That is colour correction, and Nadia takes most of them. It starts with a photo consultation and is quoted before we start, never at the till. Some corrections take two visits, and we say so up front.
How do I keep it looking fresh?
A gloss and toner between visits pulls the brass out and puts the shine back. At home, a sulphate-free shampoo and cooler water make the biggest difference.
Questions people ask first
Do I need a consultation before colour?
For a first colour appointment or any correction, yes. It is free and takes about fifteen minutes. Send photos ahead and we can often do it by message.
Can you lighten hair that has box dye in it?
Usually, but slowly. Box dye holds a lot of pigment, so we lift it over two or three visits rather than risk breakage in one.
